This commission had few restriction attached to the project. The glass was to be from hand blown roundels. The color theme was to match the colors as found in wine bottles. The roundels were furnished by Kokomo Opalescent Glass Company. The majority of the roundels varied in size from 2" in diameter to 7" in diameter. There were larger roundels used in the four curved sections of the outer border. The unique optical quality of the larger roundels helped tie in the border and the smaller roundels within the panel. The areas between the roundels were filled with cabochons. The color selection, sizing, and fitting of the cabochons took roughly eight hours of studio time.
