These stained glass windows are the entryway for Lone Star Church, located in Lone Star, Kansas. The themes throughout the windows are based on the holy trinity. There are three vines which have no beginning or end to them, thus representing the father, son, and holy spirit.
The background glass is a cathedral champagne manufactured by Kokomo Opalescent, #880. It is a double rolled glass which was painted lightly with a Grisalles glass stainers paint. The rose vines and leaves are also painted with a mixture of Grisalles and umber brown paint. The glasses in the medallion are a Fisher flashed streaky opalescent. The details were etched, fire polished, then painted and fired. The flames and hands were traced with an umber brown, the flames were painted with silver stain to achieve the dark amber tones, and the hands were painted with an enamel flesh tone. The wheat sheaths and plow were also traced with umber brown and black, then the wheat sheaths were painted with silver stain to achieve a golden hue.
