This window is in a private residence. The client wanted an abstracted window based on the diety, shieva, of the Hindu faith. By working in tandem with the clients, their knowledge of the Hindu religion proved invaluable in arriving at a workable drawing.
The glasses were manufactured by Kokomo Opalescent, Fisher, and Lamberts. The upper background glass, the blue flashed, was ground away by a 24" horizontal smoothing stone. I call it a feathering technique, graduating the blue color from light to dark. The glass was then fire polishd to smooth out the finish left by the grinding wheel. This section of the window represented the heavens where shieva resides. The lower section of the window is a Lamberts streaky. It is represents the waters for which life is so dependent on. The sun and the crescent moon are out of a Fisher handblown streaky opalescent.
